Second Annual CME conference held at Hermes Expo, April 2

Medical and allied health professionals participated in the HMS Philadelphia second annual Continuing Medical Education conference entitled “Hippocrates Seminars, The Future of Medicine: New Paradigms in Patient Care”.  All Participants recieved 3 credits of CME and appreciated the high caliber of the speakers and lectures. Participating societies include HMS New York, North Jersey Hellenic Health Professionals and HMS Philadelphia.

Excellent speakers include Sandy Tzaferos PharmD, Ananea Adamidis MD, Elleni Pippis PharmD, Nicholas Mezitis MD, Constantine Kosmas MD and Spiro Spireas PhD. Many thanks to our moderators of the sessions include Denis Hadjiliadis MD, Tara Morrison MD, Martina Harris MA, Alex Poulathas DO, Elias Iliadis MD.  Course Co-Directors were Denis Hadjiliadis MD, Nicholas Mezitis MD and Elias Iliadis MD.  We also thank our administrators, Mrs Evangelia Tsavaris and Mrs Sophia Pappas.

HMS Philadelphia awarded the 2011 Distinguished Physician award to Dr James Argires of Lancaster PA

Keynote Speaker was Congressman John Sarbanes from Maryland who spoke about Hellenism in Public Service.

State of the Debate HealthCare Symposium At Drexel University LeBow School of Business

Co-sponsored by the Hellenic Medical Societyof Philadelphia, American Hellenic Lawyers Association, Greek American Chamber of Commerce and Drexel University LeBow School of Business, over 50 came to become informed and participate in the State of the Debate Health Care Symposium.  Speakers included Keynote Speaker Congressman Robert Andrews, CFO South Jersey Healthcare Mr John Diangelo, Pharmaceutical Consultant Mr Debjit Ghosh, Legal Expert Mr. Vishal Petigara and Moderator Mr Tassos Efstratiades, President of the Federation of Hellenic American Societies of New Jersey.  Lively and constructive discussion served to educate all.  Looking forward to next years topic and discussion.

Due to inclement weather, we have rescheduled to Winter Social to February 2nd at 630pm at Estia Restaurant, Philadelphia PA.

Participants who have pre-paid will be credited for the new date and those who wish a refund should contact the Greek American Chamber of Commerce.
